Air Marshal Butt to Take Over as New PAF Chief today

Islamabad - Air Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt will take over as the new chief of the air staff of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) at a ceremony, which will be held at the Air Headquarters today.
Outgoing Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman will formally hand over the PAF’s Sword of Command to Air Marshal Butt at the ceremony where both outgoing and incoming air chiefs will be presented separate guards of honour to formally mark the change of the command.
Born in 1955, Air Marshal Butt received his early education at PAF Public School, Sargodha.
He was commissioned in the Pakistan Air Force on March 6, 1977. After doing his fighter and operational conversion courses, he flew various types of fighter and training aircraft on the PAF Inventory.
